Organisations, Institutions, and Industry:
I offer a variety of consultative services to institutions and organisations to help them achieve their goals in relation to improving or developing systems that encourage positive psychological and emotional engagement of their staff, employees, customers, service users or clients. Because of my main area of research and experience in the psychology of social media, I have a particular interest in how communications are mediated across networks, and how these networks may be adapted to meet the more complex needs of its users
I have offered my psychological insight and consultation to a variety of industries including creative agencies, the media, a major airline, public relations firms, and charities both large and small. My expertise lies in identifying the challenges that are less obvious or lie beneath the surface. I am able to offer a depth analysis of the challenges your organisation encounters while working with individuals or teams of stakeholders to suggest positive change. I am currently working with Penguin Living and the Yoke Consultancy to bring the insights gathered within my Little Book of Calm to business and industry.
The Helping and Supportive Professions:
With more than 15 years experience as a psychotherapist working in a variety of different environments, I offer a variety of trainings to counsellors, psychotherapists, mental health workers, and most anyone in the caring professions.
I am an honorary senior lecturer at the University of Essex’s Centre for Psychoanalytic Studies and a founding and executive member of The Relational School UK, offering trainings on contemporary depth and relational perspectives on psychotherapy and counselling. As an integratively trained psychotherapist, I am also very interested in working across modalities to support integrative thinking.
After writing my book The Psychodynamics of Social Networking I have worked with numerous mental health organisations and training institutes to help them respond to the challenges of the digital world on their organisations and individual practitioners. My most popular trainings focus on the psychology of social media and helping therapists develop digital policies for their own agencies or practices.
