Seeking the Self Podcast Launch at Stillpoint Spaces London

I am very proud to announce a brand new podcast series called “Seeking the Self” produced by award-winning sound designer Hana Walker-Brown and presented by author Nathalie Nahai and myself, psychotherapist and author Dr. Aaron Balick. We launched our teaser last Thursday (December 6th) and as of this morning (December 10th) all four episodes are available for your predilection.

In our increasingly distracted world, many have found sanctuary in the podcast. By quietening the noise of the external world, we create the opportunity to turn inward and listen to the voices we choose to hear. Thoughtfully selected, these podcasts can be a source of personal discovery, exploration and growth.

This teaser offers a hint of what’s to come with stories from four individuals, Jack, Erika, Paul, and Michele. Each of them share a story with us in which they have encountered life events and challenges which have forced them to look inward.

Whether it is through addiction and recovery, as it was with Jack; Erika’s double loss of a parent and her faith that led her towards another spiritual path; the ayahuasca journey taken by Paul to enable greater understanding of his self; and Michele who describes how a series of life experiences led her to become a shamanic practitioner.

Throughout, we ask the underlying question…

What is the self, and how do we find it?

Listen to the full series at Seeking the Self.

Dr Aaron Balick is a psychotherapist, author, and keynote speaker who applies depth psychology — the study of the unconscious forces shaping human behaviour — to technology, AI, and modern culture. His perspective is grounded in something relatively rare in this conversation: more than two decades of clinical experience alongside proven academic credentials. He is a clinical psychotherapist, former Director of the MA in Psychoanalytic Studies at the University of Essex, and the author of The Psychodynamics of Social Networking — the first book to apply psychoanalytic theory to social media. He also writes a monthly psychology column for GQ. Through his framework of Applied Psychodynamics, he helps leaders, organisations, and public audiences understand what is really happening beneath the surface of digital life — and what to do about it. He is based in London.
