In a world where technology, culture and mental life collide, I bring psychologically-informed insight to broadcast and print. As a psychotherapist, consultant and writer, I help media outlets interpret the human dimension of AI, social media, leadership and change.

Alongside my tenure as the longest serving mental health expert on Radio 1's iconic show The Surgery with Aled, have produced mental health content across a variety of BBC platforms. I was a regular presenter on both series of  CBBC's life-skills programme Lifebabble and played himself on the BAFTA nominated documentary Professor Green: Suicide and Me - both available on iPlayer. ​​​​​​​​​​

I make regular appearances as a guest expert on radio and television for commentary on psychology and mental well-being in response to breaking news or other stories of contemporary interest. In addition to my long relationship with BBC Radio 1, my credits include appearances on BBC Radio 4’s The Moral Maze and The Digital Human, BBC World, Public Radio International, and TRT.​​​

In partnership with the youth charity The Mix, Aaron has also made a series of short videos to help young people who suffer from panic attacks. 

Podcasting

With his experience in live radio Aaron is also at home in the world of podcasting too. Alongside Nathalie Nahai he co-hosted the limited podcast series Time To Show Up. He is a popular podcast guest where he is invited to bring a psychological perspective to a variety of issues including technology and social media, climate change, leadership, and professional flourishing to name a few. Dr. Balick is a popular guest offering psychological insights on everything from social media, television and film, politics, money, and AI and has appeared on This Jungian Life, The Savvy Wallet, Chatter Beans, The Explorer Poet, In Conversation with Nathalie Nahai, and Brad Sugars Action Coach to name just a few.
